What is flat back?
Embossed Business Cards
Embossing is technique where text or images are raised on the paper surface by a press die. The embossing die will raise them above the paper surface to be prominent. The back side of the embossed paper will show depressed reverse image/text that is embossed on the front. For this reason the back side of the Embossed paper has only has only minimal printing.
Embossed image & text can be blind or printed. Blind Embosseding is when text & images are embossed without being printed in color. Ink or Print Embossed image & text are first printed in color, and then embossed by a die.

Debossed / Letterpress Business Cards
De-bossing or Letter Press is opposite of embossing. The selected text or image are depressed in to the paper stock and give sunken appearance. Blind be-bossed text, logo or image is not printed in color. If it is printed in color and then de-bossed, it is called print De-bossing.
